Welcome to Chop Gate CC on the Net, the 'One and Only' Langbaurgh League team on the Internet!  

This site follows the teams ‘progress’ into the new century and throughout the forthcoming season and include player profiles, match reports, fixtures as well as some pictures and some very dubious averages!

With well over a century of cricketing tradition the club has struggled for  years, at one time playing all matches away from home.  The club has seen something of a revival in recent times, returning to the village and to the village pub ('The Buck' - finest Carlsberg Export in the League), winning a Cup, finishing above half-way in the League and competing well despite somewhat limited resources.

The League is based on a 40-over format with no bowler restrictions, 4 points for a win, 0 for a defeat, 3 for a tie and 2 for a 'no result'.  Cup competitions are many and varied, usually around 20 overs per

team and have provided  us with a few highlights in recent years.  We even had last years Village Cup Quarter-Finalists        'Wolviston' in trouble before we, and they, reverted to form and our dream of a Lord's Final were dashed again.
